EXTRUSION OF SOYBEANS

If you need to process soy, you can use the extruder (in our case it is a single screw extruder). This machine is designed for the implementation of dry extrusion technology. Dry extrusion method allows processing the material based only on heat and pressure occurred in extruder barrel without adding any water, steam or other forms of pre-conditioning.

Recommended moisture for raw materials:

• soy – 8-12% ( grain – 12-16%)

What happens to soybeans inside the extruder?

The raw material is fed in  soy extruderSoy is conveyed forward by the screw inside the extruder barrel. High shear cause compressing, mixing and heating of the product. The resulting product is forced through the die.

 

As a result of this process:

• raw material is crushed

• raw material is compressed and heated up to temperature above 100˚C

• the moisture turns into steam

• the steam breaks the fat cells of soy

• under high temperature, pressure and steam the content of anti-nutritional substances in soybeans is reduced.

The product is processed in 30 seconds due to the short time of cooking protein and fats do not lose their nutritional properties.

 

EXTRUSION OF GRAIN CROPS

The extruder processes grain components in the identical way. While processing grain crops the extruder provides:

• improvement of the digestibility of the product

• destruction of harmful substances

The advantages of extrusion over other soy processing technologies:

• extrusion is chemical free

• no additional heating elements or agents

• easy and fast regulation of processing modes (soy/grain crops) up to 1 minute

• extruder is a compact machine that takes much less space than for example a complex of oilseed heating kettle or heat generator.

 

EXTRUSION WITH PRECONDITIONING

If you process soy to get the poultry feed it is preferred to use the extruder with preconditioner – E-1700The preconditioner heats, hydrates and mixes the dry raw materials before extrusion and automatically doses the pre-treated product into the extruder. It optimizes the capacities and the performance of the extruder and enhances final product features. 

Talking about preconditioning, it is important to mention that preliminary steam heating of ground soybeans, reduces the general temperature of extrusion processing in the extruder barrel. In other words, the preconditioner improves the quality of lysine in full fat soy meal which has a positive effect for example laying hens productivity.
