DECANTER CENTRIFUGE
is used for the preliminary cleaning of vegetable oil right after it has been discharged out the oil press
PRODUCTS:
- cleaned vegetable oil
- oil sludge
FEEDSTOCK:
soybean oil, rapeseed oil, sunflower oil, flaxseed oil, cocoa butter
with temperature of 40°С
THE BASIC OPERATION PRINCIPLE:
after the machine is started and reached the full speed, the material enters into the bowl through the feeding pipe. Under the centrifugal force the solid phase with greater density deposits on the bowl wall, and by the differential speed, the dewatered solid phase will be pushed by the screw conveyor to the discharging port at the small end. Through the return pipe, the liquid phase with smaller density will discharge from the overflow port of the big end. The machine works continuously as above to meet the requirement of continuous separation.
As the hard particles or solids in the vegetable oil have a higher density, the centrifugal force moves them out to the wall of the rapidly rotating centrifuge bowl.
These particles are continuously removed from the decanter by a screw with adjustable speed of rotation. The screw rotates on one axis with the bowl.
The rotation speed of both the bowl and the screw is controlled from the control panel.
Purified oil leaves the bowl through the openings which located closer to the axis of rotation.

- Maximum capacity (water), m³/hour: 4
- Maximum bowl speed, RPM: 4800
- Bowl diameter, mm: 250
- Difference speed, RPM: 5 ... 30
- Bowl length, mm: 1075

The feedstock is fed inside the decanter centrifuge from the height of 2 meters over the rotation bowl axis
DECANTER CENTRIFUGE START:
1) Oil feed is closed
Water feed is open
2) The main electric motor is ON and the decanter bowl rotates
3) The oil tap is open and the water tap is closed.
OPERATION OF THE DECANTER CENTRIFUGE:
1) There is a delamination of feedstock:
- As the hard particles or solids in the vegetable oil have a higher density, the centrifugal force moves them out to the wall of the rapidly rotating centrifuge bowl
- vegetable oil has a lower density, so it accumulates closer to the axis of rotation of the decanter bowl
As a result there are 2 layers have been formed:
- the layer of oil sludge on the bowl wall
- clean vegetable oil layer gathered closer to the axis of rotation
2) The raw material enters into the decanter continuously
The process of separation is continuous the height of the layer of the oil sludge is constantly increasing.
3) The screw / the screw feeder is installed in the bowl.
The bowl and the screw rotate on the same axis, but at different speeds
by means of a special reduction gear box.
The difference between the speed of the bowl and the screw is controlled from the control panel within 5 ... 30 rpm.
The bowl rotation speed can reach 4800 rpm.
But the rotation speed of the screw regarding of the bowl itself is only 5 ... 30 rpm.
At the same time, regarding to the axis, the screw rotates too quickly - up to 4770 ... 4795 rpm.
4) The screw moves a layer of solid particles towards the conical part of the bowl.
5) By the cone, the solid particles are lifted by the screw above the upper oil level and are discharged from the bowl
6) The cleaned oil leaves the bowl from the opposite side through the openings in the end of the drum located closer to the axis of rotation
7) Oil sludge and cleaned vegetable oil are discharged into the special reservoir under the decanter
DECANTER CENTRIFUGE STOP:
FINAL PRODUCTS:
1) The oil supply valve is closed
2) The water tap is open
The internal surface of the bowl, screw and oil line is cleaned
3) The water supply is closed
4) The auxiliary electric motor is switched off
5) The main motor is switched off
