HOW TO PROCESS SOY INTO OIL CAKE

The oil cake is a product resulted from mechanical oil extraction from oilseed in our case we press the oil from the extruded full fat soy meal.

Let us look at the sequence of soybean processing.

You have a certain amount of soybeans with the moisture 6-9%. The moisture content is highly important as it influences the oil output during mechanical pressing. The raw soybeans are fed into extruder.  After soy has been extruded you get a full fat meal.

The extruded full fat soy meal is hot when it enters the oil press so it releases the moisture in the form of steam. Some part of the steam is removed through the ventilated conveyor

Right after the soy oil has been pressed out you get the oil cake with the temperature of 100°C.

The oil cake is necessary to cool down as cooling protects against protein structure damage.

Of course, this production line requires additional equipment: storage facilities, feeders, valves and oil filters, but the basic processing components are as follows:

EXTRUDERCONVEYOR (with moisture separation)OIL PPRESS  COOLER
